Breast Augmentation Surgery in Turkey

What is a Breast Augmentation?

Breast augmentation surgery, also known as breast enlargement, is a surgical cosmetic procedure in which breast implants are placed inside the chest to enhance the size, shape, and symmetry of breasts. Women opt for this procedure for a variety of reasons, including to increase the size of their breasts, restore their bust’s shape after pregnancy or weight loss, and balance the size and shape of breasts that are different from each other.

There are two types of breast implants: round and teardrop-shaped. While teardrop-shaped implants offer a more natural look, they tend to lose their shape and may look droopy over time. On the other hand, round implants maintain their shape for longer and are the most commonly used implant in breast augmentation surgery.

Before the breast augmentation surgery, you will meet with your surgeon to discuss the procedure, your desired results, and the size and shape of the implant that will best suit your needs. There are three techniques used to perform this surgery, including periareolar, trans-axillary, and inframammary. In the periareolar technique, the incision is made around the nipple-areola to place the implant. In the trans-axillary technique, the incision is made in the armpit area, while the inframammary technique involves making a cut in the inframammary area, which is below each of the breasts. This technique is the most commonly used in breast enlargement surgery.

On the day of the breast augmentation surgery, the surgeon will draw marks on your body to guide them on where to make the incision and where to place the implant. These marks will help ensure that the implants are placed symmetrically and that the results are as desired. In the operating room, the doctor will apply anesthesia to the lower back via an injection known as an epidural. This numbs the area and ensures the patient feels no pain during the procedure.

The surgeon will then make an incision below the natural fold of the breast and use an electrocautery device to separate the fat from the muscle to create a space where the implant will be placed. This technique is called subglandular. The same procedure is then performed on the other breast. The entire breast augmentation surgery usually takes around one hour.

After the breast implant surgery, you will be required to wear a special bra to support the implants as they heal. You may experience some pain, swelling, and bruising, but these symptoms are usually temporary and can be managed with medication. It is essential to follow your surgeon’s instructions carefully to ensure a smooth recovery and the best results possible.

You’ll be given a general anesthetic before your breast augmentation surgery. The procedure will take about an hour and a half. The procedure entails creating a minor incision in the fold beneath your breast and placing an implant directly behind the breast for the most natural appearance. If you do not have enough breast skin and tissue to cover the implant your surgeon may recommend placing the implant behind your pectoral muscle. Once the implant is in place the incision is stitched.
